Gokyo valley || charming valley in nepal

Nestled beside the sixth highest mountain in the world, Cho Oyu (8188m), Gokyo valley lies towards the west of the Khumbu region and is one of the most picturesque valleys in Nepal. The Gokyo valley is within the Sagarmatha National Park and has the world's highest human settlements, ecologically characteristic flora and fauna. The serene valley with extensive yak pastures and pristine turquoise lakes are simply breathtaking. Gokyo can be visited after trekking up to Everest Base Camp by adding another five days to the itinerary. There are many great views all around the valley, the most popular among them is seen by ascending the Gokyo Ri. From the summit of the Gokyo Ri one can enjoy a spectacular panoramic view extending from Cho Oyu and Everest, to Lhotse and all the way to Makalu. There are also two high passes that lead out of the Gokyo valley, the Cho La pass and the Renjo La pass.
