Jomsom Village || Gateway to Upper Mustang Region
Jomsom also known as Dzong Sampa meaning -˜New Fort' in local language is situated at an altitude of 2700m in Mustang district. Jomsom is the main gateway to upper Mustang, The Kali Gandaki river flows through the centre of Jomsom, it is another overnight stop in the Annapurna Circuit Trek. The Kali Gandaki gorge, the deepest gorge in the world is another highlight of this trek. The diverse landscape and culture found along this trekking route give marvelous insight into the way of life of people of various ethnic groups living in this region.
