Lo Manthang || capital of ancient kingdom of Lo

Lo Manthang located at the northern end of Mustang district bordering Tibet is a village noted for its whitewashed brick wall and the King's Palace. Lo Manthang was once the capital of the Kingdom of Lo(upper Mustang) and a dependency with a hereditary king until Nepal became a republic in 2008. Lo Mangthang village is one of the preserved destinations among tourists. Tourists arrive here to explore the ancient Buddhist cultures, age old monasteries, peoples, and unnatural and wonderful landscape. The main inhabitant of Upper Mustang districts are the Lobas, who are culturally and ethnically related to the people of Tibet. Lo Manthang is the least visited part of Nepal, it comes under the restricted area and therefore only few tourists have been able tovisit this area.
