8 days Tour of Bhutan introducing Western Bhutan

The Introduction to Bhutan Tour lives up to its name by offering a gradual introduction to the wonders of Western Bhutan. Progressing at a well-balanced and unhurried pace, it takes you halfway to Central Bhutan, ensuring a thoroughly enjoyable experience and providing opportunities to meet and learn from the locals. This well-paced odyssey takes you on a captivating journey through well-preserved traditions and culture, medieval Dzongs, pristine environments, monasteries, and the ever-friendly people.

Starting from Thimphu, the only capital in the world without traffic lights, the tour unfolds with visits to attractions in the Thimphu valley. The eastward drive, across the breathtaking Dochula Pass, reveals a grand panorama of the eastern Himalayan peaks on clear days, leading you to the glacial valley of Phobjikha. This valley, a protected marshland and nesting grounds for endangered black-necked cranes, is surrounded by picturesque villages.

On the return journey, a stop is made at the semi-tropical agrarian valley of Punakha & Wangdi. Here, at the confluence of the Pho and Mo Chhu rivers, stands one of the country’s most stunning Dzongs – Punakha Dzong. After exploring these attractions, the route once again traverses the Dochula Pass, bringing you to the serene Paro valley. The pinnacle of this experience is a hike to the iconic Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) monastery, an essential and quintessential adventure in Bhutan.
